But what was the reason for this I needed to know. Wanting to understand the exact needs of this market, an open meeting was convened at Photonex last October. I asked lots of questions including “Is there a need for a new industry show?”, “Would it be appropriate to co-locate the show with Photonex in 2010?” All the discussions led to the conclusion that there was a definite need for a new show and running it beside a scientific meeting already established was considered an attractive idea.

It took a few months to decide on the structure of the event, the Vacuum Industry is a huge market, but very fragmented as there are so many different sectors. It appears in the first year we should keep the event really very general.

Vacuum Expo is now a reality!
