First Exhibitor books their stand for Vacuum Expo

Last week we wrote to a few of the companies who were following our plans. We have now taken our first order for a stand. VAT Vacuum Products booked first, with Pfeiffer Vacuum and Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum both being quick to put a reserve on a stand. Their intention is to confirm this week.

Our plan is to put out a more general announcement this week and hopefully more people will be wanting to book into this event.

I had a comment from a potential exhibitor yeterday; "Telford could not be a more perfect location for a Vacuum Technology event".

New Vacuum Technology Event in Telford

In recent years I have become aware that there was a potential need for a quality Vacuum Technologies event in the UK, the Practical Vacuum event in the UK was getting smaller and smaller. But what was the reason for this I needed to know.  Wanting to understand the exact needs of this market, an open meeting was convened at Photonex last October. I asked lots of questions including “Is there a need for a new industry show?”, “Would it be appropriate to co-locate the show with Photonex in 2010?” All the discussions led to the conclusion that there was a definite need for a new show and running it beside a scientific meeting already established was considered an attractive idea.

It took a few months to decide on the structure of the event, the Vacuum Industry is a huge market, but very fragmented as there are so many different sectors. It appears in the first year we should keep the event really very general.

Vacuum Expo is now a reality!
